So we got really lucky and we have a great tip for anyone going around the ring of Kerry. We notices all of the signs were pointing backwards from the way we were going for the ring of Kerry. That's because all of the tourists and coach buses do the ring in reverse from Kilaeney. We noticed that we had no traffic and no coach buses in our way. it was great!
Our first stop on the Ring of Kerry was just after Kenmare on N70, The Holy Well. The sign for the Holy Well on the ring of Kerry made us raise and eyebrow and make a U-Turn.
Down a short path of steps the weather turned to blue skies and bright sun.
There is a round about of forest stones for steps surrounding the Holy Well of the Ring of Kerry.
The first town from Kenmare is called Sneem and here are a few of the views along the way.
We started looking around for the best place to have tea and scones and we found this amazing little cafe called the Riverside Cafe of Sneem Ireland.
The river side view is delightful and the scones with cream that's self explanatory. Here is the riverside cafe of Sneem view from our table.
Our next stop was the Staigue Fort right off of the N70 highway. This must be the smallest road in Ireland truly. Two cars cannot fit down this road at the same time and we were driving a Nissan MICRA meaning tiny European car.
The Saituge Fort Is one of the largest and finest stone forts Narland it was probably built in the early centuries A.D. before Christianity came to Ireland. The wall is 6 m high and 4 m stick built entirely out of stone with no mortar and enclosed area of 30 m in diameter.
After the Saituge Fort we saw so many amazing views it was incredible.
We stopped in Cahersiveen for 5 minutes and got a 40 Euro ticket so beware of your parking.
By overall it was wonderful and stopped in Dingle.
