Doolin Folk Festival 2013

The doolin folk festival was full of jolly European festivalgoers of all ages. The doolin folk festival on Friday featured an Irish band called Scullion among others. Scullion is made up of three artists, two guitarists and the lead singer who plays harmonica.

They had a uniquely full sound of strumming harmonic acoustical guitars back up & lead vocals, harmonica solos and talented guitar solos on electric and acoustic guitars.
Here is Scullion at the doolin folk festival giving a bow. They sung songs about love, leaving the city for the country, a tribute to Amy Winehouse, many originals  including a few almost folk / reggae style songs.
We drink Guinness, Smithwick's & a new Stella cider beer while we sat by the fire drank in the crowd and walked around outside looking for rainbows which we finally did find!
On the way back to the Roadford House stopped at a completely packed pub and spoke with an old Irish man who said he was 76 and still loving life everyday! Guinness is like diesel fuel he said and it helps him sing everyday for he loves music so much. He said he would sing us a song if the band would let him....
Here is Lauren hanging out to the music of Dermont Byrne and Floriane. They played a wonderful squeeze box and harp together.
Great Irish music at the doolin folk festival 2013.
Just finshed up a nice set by Karen Casey & John Doyle mainly about Irish immigrants. One song about Yankee town was pretty interesting during the doolin festival 2013. Apparently Karen Casey and John Doyle have been to doolin Ireland before playing folk music in 2013.

Luka Bloom & Friends played a bunch of great songs. Luka mainly played acoustic guitar for the Doolin Folk Festival. I thought it was great he brought in two percussionist drummers to get things going.
We were hoping that our friend John Smith www.johnsmithmusic.com would play a song in between sets but I don't think he got the chance as he was hosting entire tour through doolin.
