Gregan's Castle in June

Gregan's Castle is set in the beautiful entrance to the Burren, Ballyvaughan, in County Clare, Ireland. Gregans castle is an old mansion built in 1740 known locally for its environmental stewardship.
Upon check-in we walked through a beautiful reception area next to a crackling fire, a ticking grandmaster clock and a large chandelier.

The rooms are elegantly decorated with antique furniture 18th-century relics and for post canopy beds. Our first floor luxury suite features a walk out glass door that opens right to the castle gardens.
Ab Antique elegant feel of Gregans Castle is that of a luxury castle hotel.
The castle is free from modern technology ensuring guests a authentic experience. When Gregans castle was first built in the 1740s they choose this location for it's spectacular view of Galway Bay.
Teatime is from 230 to 530 which most people enjoy by the fire in the corkscrew lounge.

You also have the option to have tea and scones brought to your room which Lauren and I thought would be a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

These would have to be some of the top scones we've had in Ireland and certainly the best Irish tea that we've ever had.
When you're at Gregan's castle you're always encouraged to take a walking tour of the beautiful Irish gardens. Lauren and I took out a pair of their Wellington knee-high rubber boots and umbrellas for our walk..
As we wandered around these extensively developed and replanted gardens we refound the magic of Ireland.
Even in the rain we felt like children again frolicking against the backdrop of the burren landscape. Gregans castle encourages you to meet bubbles and Thomas their donkey and pony. I now know what J.R. L Tolkien meant whenhe  said something to the effect of... this is the perfect balance between natural beauty and relaxing atmosphere.
Here's a picture of the corkscrew bar. And a few things we ate along the way.
